I still got my miles of running in which was one accomplishment but the eating was horrible! No weight loss which is very dissapointing. </div><div><b>So for week 2:</b></div><div>FUN</div><div>I did get a chance to watch a movie with my family which was fun and I took a bath! Weird I know but, I usually cannot sit still long enough to watch a movie or take a bath! </div><div>FAT</div><div>This week I stay in the fat category! EEEEWWWW! I will not keep crying about it and will move on!! Week 3 will be better!</div><div>I also tried my new recipe on Sunday! I made Chorba a Moroccan Vegetable Soup and it was great!!!! Did a 6 mile run on Sunday in the rain!! Staying on track for 500 miles this year - YEAH! </div><div>No weight training in this week. I really need to make a plan to fit this in!!! </div><div>Taking the P90X out of the box and will see what it is all about - scarry!!!</div><div><br /></div><div>After a dissapointing week2 I am ready to put it behind me and move on to week 3!! </div><div><br /></div><div>Happy Monday! </div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-65915493564665495472010-01-11T21:16:00.000-08:002010-01-11T21:18:11.758-08:00Week 1<p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px">WEEK 1 Complete!</span></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; min-height: 14.0px"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px"></span><br /></p> <p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica"><span style="letter-spacing: 0.0px">Week 1 of 2010 is in the books! Doesn't really keep me honest! I started really thinking about what I wanted my New Years Resolution to be this year... so I started thinking about 2009. What went right and what went wrong! </div><div><br /></div><div>So, 2009 a quick review:</div><div><br /></div><div>I started off the year in great shape, running and working out most every day. I was at a good weight for me - around 185! August 2008 I ended an 8 week Challenge where I lost the most % weight in the group and won the challenge......I started at 221, I lost 27 pounds in those 8 weeks and by the end of 2008 I had lost 36 pounds and run my first EVER 5k race. So, January 2009 I was happy with my progress and proud of myself. Backwards was not an option!!!</div><div>Then something started to change....not really sure what it was but backwards happened!! I slowly started gaining weight! Next thing I knew I was at 195 and couldn't regain focus. I was still running but not consistently. </div><div>I was very excited in March when a group of us were notified that we got into the Nike Women's Half Marathon in October in San Francisco! I thought that was what I needed to focus and get back on track! </div><div>BUT NO!!! It got worse. </div><div>I never really trained for the Nike half - I did it, and I met my goal of running more than I walked, and I finished! But, that was a back up goal because I knew I was not in good enough shape to run the whole thing! And, I knew that the weight I had gained was also in the way! I really had a great time at the race and thought that would inspire me to get it together again! </div><div>BUT NO! It got worse! </div><div> I have done two other 10k races since then and have still been running, again with no consistency! The worst part is I have also gained more weight back. </div><div>So now I look back and see what those things were that contributed to the "BACKWARDS"</div><div><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3366FF;">1. Breakfast at Starbucks</span></b> - I love Starbucks and am a regular there every morning. The difference between skinny and backwards is the coffee and a pastry breakfast instead of coffee and oatmeal. The other difference is that I was making Starbucks coffee at home and making good breakfast decisions that included fruit, protein, vegis and whole grains - not SUGAR! </div><div><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3366FF;">2. Fast food</span></b><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3366FF;">.</span></b> YUCK! I am not a big fan of fast food but it sure is fast and easy! The difference between skinny and backwards was that I hardly ever ate at fast food and when I did salads and grilled chicken no bun! Not hamburgers and sundaes. </div><div><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3366FF;">3. Cookies and Ice Cream!</span></b> I have eaten so many cookies that I am sure I am going to turn into one! At least that is what I was told when I was a kid!!! I LOVE ice cream and am not sure I could ever give it up completely! I used to say that I ran for the right to eat ice cream! The difference between skinny and backwards was the amount of ice cream, add in the cookies and not be consistent with the running!!</div><div><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#3366FF;">4. No strength training</span></b>. Skinny had running and strength training as a priority! Backwards had running when I could fit it in!</div><div>So now as I reflect back on 2009 I really do know exactly what happened! </div><div><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#CC33CC;">Bad choices - Excuses - NO plan!!</span></b></div><div><br /></div><div>This helped me plan for my 2010 resolution! </div><div><br /></div><div>A very smart friend of mine said that 2010 resolutions don't start until the first Monday of the year!! </div><div><br /></div><div>Those tomorrow!!! </div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-56455704140310060322009-12-09T20:09:00.001-08:002009-12-09T20:13:54.744-08:00My how time flies! Cannot believe it is Dec 9th. Where did this year go? Seems like every month goes faster and faster! <div>So excited for our new work out room! We have had family work out which has been a blast! I forgot how nice it was to go run on the treadmill and not have to go anywhere but across the side walk. It was so nice running outside this summer and fall I couldn't bring myself to run inside but now that it is soooo cold the treadmill is not so bad!!! Anything to get a couple miles in! </div><div>Starting to look at races for the spring...research starts now.....</div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-10979401325619714212009-11-27T10:06:00.000-08:002009-11-27T10:13:41.050-08:00Another week gone by and not much done on my diet! UGH!!! I really need to get serious! <div><br /></div><div>I have decided that this year my NEW YEARS RESOLUTION needs to be different! For the last 25 years the resolution has been the same - weight!! </div><div>This year my resolution (I know it is early but.....) is to not ever have the same resolution again! The time is NOW! </div><div><br /></div><div>Starts today!!! </div><div><br /></div><div>First on the agenda - finish the work out room...we started setting it up and just needs to be finished...doing that instead of going shopping today. </div><div>I ran a Turkey Trot 10k yesterday so I am just going to do a quick treadmill run today to be easier on my body and maybe one body part of strength training!!! </div><div>And the diet part.... all about vegi's today!! (NO CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES-A feat in itself!! Especially since I feel like I have been sustaining life on chocolate chip cookies over the last month! </div><div>Have a great salad planned for dinner - YUM! </div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-7772193056281261432009-11-18T20:31:00.000-08:002009-11-18T20:37:30.227-08:00Quick run tonight in the wind and rain! The weather did not matter just a great quick run! I have to get them in when I can!!!<div>Just need to invest in a good lightweight running jacket. I have great cold weather gear but not water proof!!! The new Nike light up jacket looks cool -- might have to check that out -- but for $250.00 it better be great!!! </div><div><br /></div><div>Decided not to do another half this month -- I am just not ready and don't want to get hurt! So switching gears and doing a Turkey 10k on Thanksgiving!!! I was stressing about doing another 1/2 and now am really excited about the 10k. </div><div><br /></div><div>I am also going to check out the Nike run club next week -- anything to stay motivated and running!! </div><div><br /></div><div>Now to focus on the eating-- Chocolate chip cookies should be illegal!! Maybe because I am doing so poorly on my weight loss journey that I am afraid to post anything and admit it in writing! <div>Today is the day -- I am going out in the wind and cold and going to run 8 miles. Digging out my cold gear for the first time. Hopefully it works. Will be my longest run so far. I am not counting the half since I walked part of it!!! </div><div>Just need to STOP eating the darn chocolate chip cookies! </div><div><br /></div><div>Also, I am joining the bloggy land Holiday Booty Buster Challenge. Gotta get some motivation somewhere!!! </div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-3725238798272078162009-10-25T17:18:00.000-07:002009-10-25T17:28:07.509-07:00Human RaceNIKE Human Race 10K last night! <div>Wow it gets dark early now. Had a busy kid day so waited to run until the evening. Started about 30 minutes late and it got dark on my run which I was not prepared for. Luckily I planned my run which was mostly on the sidewalk so I was safe. </div><div>Ran the whole 10k even added in a hill or two :). I felt great. Ran a 11 minute mile pace which was good for me since I have been running 12+ lately! Only my knees starting hurting about the last third of the run, has to be the extra weight I am carrying. Need to focus on that!</div><div>New weight 208. Each pound counts but I need to be more focused and serious about it!<br /><div><br /></div><div>I broke down and talked to my trainer this weekend...I haven't used her in a year! I was thinking I could do it by myself but decided to swallow my pride and ask for help..... this isn't always easy to do but i did it. I am going to call her this week and we are going to get together and make a PLAN!! I am excited! </div><div>Busy week this week....must plan ahead and stay on task! </div><div><br /></div></div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-22518956293415157192009-10-22T21:28:00.000-07:002009-10-22T21:36:27.666-07:00<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">What a busy day! Work was so crazy today that I almost made enough excuses NOT to run! I almost got away with it too - BUT I ran tonight just before dark right as I left work. It felt good to get out for a short 3 mile run. I am taking tomorrow off from running and doing the NIKE 10k on Saturday! </span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">I think I have decided to do another Half Marathon on Thanksgiving weekend! WOW do I have the bug or what? Hopefully I can get a few pounds off by then too! Running is so much easier at a lighter weight! </span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">So as far as the weight loss goes - I did OK today! Other than the 2 cookies I ate when I got home -- I ate good today! </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana, serif;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:verdana;">I hardly realized I had eaten the cookies -- I get home and on auto pilot grabbed a few cookies. Need to make all of the junk food go away....my family is not going to like it but it will be good for all of us :) </span></div></div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-31603824208844697262009-10-21T18:46:00.000-07:002009-10-21T18:56:42.226-07:00So I did it! My first Half Marathon. I met my goals.....ran more than I walked and I finished. It was a great experience and FUN FUN FUN! It is a good place to start anyway.....I felt really good during the run and could have run more if it wasn't such a hilly course! I am already looking for another race to enter. Setting my goals a bit higher this time....thinking cutting 15 minutes off my first race time is doable!!!<br /><br />Now for my weight loss - ICK! Do you ever tell yourself I will start tomorrow? I tell myself that every day.....tomorrow never comes. It is a constant battle..."I can eat this I will start tomorrow" which is how I ended up gaining back all of this weight....NO MORE! I start today...I start tonight .. I start right now!!! <br /><br />I am planning my food diary for tomorrow..I do best when I write everything down. Planning a 3 mile run at lunch tomorrow too. Legs are healed from the weekend and ready to roll again!2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-31269716839596786182009-10-16T20:25:00.000-07:002009-10-16T20:28:31.951-07:00Off to the city tomorrow AM to pick up my race packet! <div>I cannot believe I am going to do this! I really am 2 FAT 2 RUN 13.1. </div><div>I have two goals for my first half -- </div><div>1) run more than I walk </div><div>and </div><div>2)FINISH! </div><div>EASY RIGHT ??? </div><div><br /></div><div>Packing my camera in my vest pocket so I will at least have great pictures of the race!!! </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2221737655888599730.post-83914132176204730172009-10-13T17:58:00.000-07:002009-10-14T18:53:28.899-07:00My First Blog, The StartSo this is my first blog and the start of my new journey!!<br /><br /><br />This will be my journal and an honest day by day account of my journey.<br /><br /><br />Here I start........I have spent my entire life overweight. About a year ago I weighed 221 lbs. Not the heaviest I have ever been - I think my top non-pregnancy weight was 238. But, heavy enough. I lost 38 pounds the right way....eating right and working out. I started running for the first time in my life. I have always been active but have <strong>never</strong> been a runner. I loved it. I got down to 183 and felt GREAT!!<br /><br />So, I signed up to run a half marathon and something happened. I quit running, not all together but was not consistently running. I started eating crappy again and now back up at 210 lbs. I feel horrible!!!<br />I try to run and everything hurts.<br />I eat wrong and I feel terrible!<br /><br />Time to stop the maddness and focus!<br /><br />This weekend is the Half Marathon that I signed up and paid for last March.<br /><br /><br />Oh, and FYI - <strong>I AM 2 FAT 2 RUN 13.1 !!!</strong> Just thought I would mention that fact.......<br /><br />I am going to do the half marathon anyway. I will walk it if I have to but, it is going to be the start and end to my journey! My goal is to actually run a half-marathon start to finish!!!<br /><br /><br />So here I am ready to start my "journey" with a half marathon the same way I want to end this part of my "journey" with a half marathon. Hopefully at the end I can change the name of my blog!!!!!<br /><br />Join me on my journey .......2 Fat 2 Run 13.1http://www.blogger.com/profile/07179977209491923297noreply@blogger.com0
